Atlanta is a city that runs on communication, from the boardrooms of Midtown to the recruiting pipelines of its universities, yet most students leave high school having never been coached on how to actually hold a room. Rhetrix exists to close that gap, starting in middle school, when the habits are still forming.
Families zoned to Midtown High School, North Atlanta High School, and Maynard Jackson High School — and those at the city's independent schools — tend to want the same thing: strong students who freeze in interviews, presentations, and discussions need reps in front of real people, not another worksheet. Cohorts are grouped by developmental track, so a 6th grader and an 11th grader are never coached the same way.
For Atlanta families, there are two doors in. In-person summer camp and fall/spring cohorts meet north of the city — many intown families make the drive for the week-long summer intensive. For everyone else, live 1:1 virtual coaching delivers the same method over Zoom, on your schedule, with no drive at all. Both put your student in front of a coach who gives direct feedback every single session.
What Atlanta parents ask us most.
Does Rhetrix offer public speaking classes inside Atlanta?
Rhetrix serves Atlanta two ways: in-person cohorts and summer day camp north of the city (about 40 minutes from Midtown), and live 1:1 virtual coaching available to any Atlanta family with no drive required. Both are taught by the same coach using the same method.
Which Atlanta schools are represented at Rhetrix?
Rhetrix reaches families across the city — the Midtown, North Atlanta, and Maynard Jackson zones as well as Atlanta-area independent schools. Cohorts form around grade-level tracks, never school rosters, so intown and OTP students end up training together.
Is there a virtual option for Atlanta families who don't want to drive?
Yes. Live 1:1 virtual coaching over Zoom is built for exactly this — students intown or anywhere in metro Atlanta work directly with the coach, with the same real-time feedback as an in-person session. Details at rhetrix.com/1on1.
How is Rhetrix different from a debate club or theater program in Atlanta?
Debate trains argument and theater trains performance. Rhetrix trains authentic communication presence — the skill for college interviews, presentations, and any room without a script. No other Atlanta-area program we know of pairs a grades 6–12 focus with coaching aimed at genuine presence instead of rehearsed polish.
